A barn find 1954 Jaguar XK120 Fixed head coupe is coming to auction with The Market this month.

Living in secrecy on a farm in Wales for the past 50 years as an ongoing restoration project, only 151 right hand drive, fixed head coupes were made for the UK and only 57 are believed to have survived to this day.

The car is in largely complete condition, besides the layers of dust. The car is currently in the possession of it’s second owner with original engine and chassis. It is estimated to go for £25,000 to £35,000.

“When a truly rare car comes to auction which has also been tucked away and off the market for decades it creates an unmissable opportunity for collectors,” explains Tristan Judge, director, The Market.

“This car’s story makes it even more interesting and appealing to buyers. With the current owner having spent some 50 years tinkering, now the opportunity exists to take-over and finish the existing project or begin a new restoration to return this classic to its former glory.”

A Jaguar Heritage certificate comes with the car, confirming it was manufactured on 16th March 1954 and was sold by Byatts of Fenton. Stoke-on-Trent. It originally had a grey leather interior, and was finished in Birch Grey.

The Jaguar XK120 was the worlds fastest production car at the time of it’s launch, and the ’120’ refers to it’s 120mph top speed.

The online only auction will begin on 20th November, closing at 8pm on 27th November. To find out more about the 1954 Jaguar XK120 for sale or to place a bid visit https://themarket.co.uk/listings/jaguar/xk120-fhc/763a84e9-bcd9-4295-9752-6dd2bec903f6.
