Only 75 of these Stirling Moss Limited Edition SLR Mclaren Speedster's were built, and now you could own one too... for £2 million and change.

McLaren recently announced the Elva – a speedster lacking a roof or a windscreen and housing a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, usually found in the 720S and the Senna, but this version's packing 804bhp.

But, the Elva isn't the first road car from McLaren with a cockpit open to the elements. Enter the bonkers, gorgeous Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss. Stunning but a bit scary, it's got the crazy eyes, yet you just can't help yourself because just look at it. The side-exit exhausts, never-ending bonnet, massive rear diffuser, and of course the iconic SLR name featured alongside Sir Stirling Moss...

Just 75 were produced and all sold for roughly £700,000. A homage as special as this won't depreciate though, in fact one is currently for sale, for £2.22 million. It's being sold by German dealer Mechatronik and has just 964km on the clock. The car wasn’t even road registered for it's first two and a half years of life – it just sat in the current owner’s private museum.

There's a 5.4-litre AMG V8 putting out 641bhp and 605lb ft of torque under that sweeping, lightweight carbon fibre bonnet, helping the car achieve a ridiculous top speed – without a a windscreen I might add – of 217mph. You'd better wear a helmet, wouldn't want to ruin your hair.
