PORSCHE 911 (996) CARRERA 1999

Porsche 911 996 Carrera Manual 2WD sunroof coupe

Intro / Exterior
A sought after iteration of the Porsche 996; an early Carrera in coupe guise with cable throttle and a manual gearbox in Artic Silver in stock condition. The body is in good condition, with no signs of previous repairs. Being critical, there is a large stone chips one the bonnet, a blemish to the paint on the rear bumper and a small dent on the roof above the header rail. These minor blemishes do not detract from a overall clean car. The factory fit (option code 213) 993 Turbo-Look 18" wheels are presentable but would benefit a refurb.
Interior / Spec
The black leather interior is in very good condition considering the age and mileage, The dashboard, carpets, door cards and head-lining etc are all good and everything electrical in the Porsche works just as it should, including the electric retractable sun-roof and the air conditioning system, which has just had a new condenser fitted and re-gassed the system. The optional extra codes on this car are as follows: C16, 236, 413, 424,436 (3 spoke wheel), 448, 650 (sunroof), 659 (computer) and 695. The car has had the GT3 Centre Console Delete fitted, along with a bluetooth Continental single DIN audio that suits the car interior. The CD holder centre console is available if a fully standard look is sought.
Mechanics / Drive
This is as a pure and unmolested version of an early 996, with minimal options and a light kerb weight. The combination of the responsive 3.4 engine and the cable throttle and 6-speed manual gives a very entertaining drive. The car has recently had a full front suspension re-build and re-alignment that has returned the steering to the light and responsive set up that you would expect. The standard suspension ride height has been maintained, preserving a good compromise between ride comfort and sports handling. Recent fitment of Michelin PS4 tyres on the rear also had a very positive effect over the older rubber. The rear suspension would benefit from an overhaul as the next upgrade.
Service History / Sales Prep
There is a comprehensive servicing record and documentation relating to the car, such as previous works invoices, MOT certificates, and other miscellaneous papers, as well as the original owners wallet containing the owners manuals and the maintenance booklet. The booklet is virtually full, with 16 service intervals stamped, and invoice evidence for others
The service intervals completed are as follows: 3/5/00 12153, 14/2/01 25452, 6/12/01 36012, 5/6/03 39371, 01/09/04 48220, 09/09/05 58331, 8/11/06 64273, 17/11/07 68797, 10/12/08 71488, 19/10/09 73938, 8/12/10 76838, 22/12/11 80844, 17/6/14 86362, 31/10/15 92991, 3/5/17 98644, 7/8/18 108500, 22/7/19 112580 1/3/21 115500
