  • MGB Roaster with only 1,019 miles since purchase, new, in 1981
  • Unrestored, unblemished, totally original condition
  • Complete with its ‘first service voucher’, unused and still valid
  • Auction starts on 6 June

Leading online classic and niche vehicle auction site Car & Classic brings to its auction platform a virtually untouched, time-warp Rover MGB Roadster with only 1,000 miles on the clock and a fully-documented history, including an unspent ‘first service voucher’ issued by the selling dealership, Caffyns, to the car’s original owner in 1981.

Carefully dry-stored and looked after in the last forty years or so, the Brooklands Green MGB is “as it left the factory” condition inside and out, with no repair, alterations or part replacement.

Adding to the magic of a classic car which looks like it did when it was driven out of the garage in 1981, Caffyns – one of longest and most established brands in the UK, and a trusted name in the car industry since 1903 – has promised to honour the first service voucher at one of its 14 dealerships in the South East of England, the Worthing Audi site.

“MGBs may be the staple diet of British classic car enthusiasts, as popular classic sportscars go, but Car & Classic’s auctions often have that little extra background or unusual paperwork shaping a vehicle’s past and making it even more special,” says Car & Classic Head of Editorial Chris Pollitt. “In this case, the remarkable, immaculate condition of the time-warp MGB is linked to unbelievably low mileage and consistent care its owners have bestowed upon it over the years. The unused service voucher adds a rare touch to an already spotless and well documented history.”
