LEVC (London Electric Vehicle Company) continues to expand its UK dealer network with the appointment of Guest Truck and Van as a sales and servicing partner in five strategic locations across the Midlands.

The dealer group will provide full sales and after sales support for LEVC’s TX electric taxi and new VN5 electric van, which began production at the company’s state-of-the-art EV manufacturing facility in Ansty, Coventry, earlier this month.

Guest Truck and Van and its sister company, Sherwood Truck and Van, will represent LEVC in Birmingham, Coventry, Stoke-on-Trent, Sheffield and Leicester, significantly bolstering the availability and reach of LEVC’s sales and servicing operations in the Midlands.

With more than 50 sales and service locations in the UK alone by the end of this year, LEVC is aiming to ensure that customers are never further than a 45-minute drive time to an authorised LEVC service point.

Joerg Hofmann, CEO of LEVC, commented: “I am pleased to welcome Guest Truck and Van to LEVC as we grow our network to support our expanding product portfolio. This strategic partnership will enhance our dealer operations in the Midlands and their experience and expertise in the commercial vehicle sector will be a great asset to our business and customers.”

Robert Spittle, Managing Director at Guest Truck and Van, said: “Entering a partnership with a world-leading manufacturer of electric taxis as they prepare to launch an exciting new product on the commercial vehicle market is a truly exciting prospect for us. Our expertise and experience will allow us to ensure that LEVC customers in our areas have access to the best possible support nearby, while those invested in switching to cleaner technologies in vans, or taxi drivers looking to switch to the TX, can have informed conversations with a reputable dealer. This partnership represents another step forward for us, as the industry moves towards a greener future.”

LEVC, based in Coventry, UK has been manufacturing the official London black cab for more than 100 years and reinvented the iconic taxi as an electric zero emissions capable TX in 2018. Since launch, more than 4,500 units have sold worldwide and its green credentials have prevented more than 36,000 tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere and saved 21 million litres of fuel from use.

TX is powered by LEVC’s innovative eCity technology, providing a flexible range of over 316 miles (510 km) and a pure EV range of 63 miles (101 km). TX is purpose-built to keep all occupants safe and protected. Features include up to six passenger seats, wheelchair accessibility, a secure partition screen that separates the driver and passenger compartment, contactless payment in the rear, easy to clean surfaces and an intercom system that allows driver and passenger to always communicate clearly.

Based on the same architecture and proven eCity technology as LEVC’s TX electric taxi, VN5 can achieve a pure EV range of over 60 miles (98 km) and a total flexible range of over 300 miles (489 km). In addition, VN5 utilises the same strong, lightweight bonded aluminium monocoque & SMC construction – designed to last twice as long as the competition and first in sector for the one-tonne van segment. VN5 also has a class-leading turning circle of just 10.1m for unrivalled mobility in busy city environments.

With up to 5.5m3 cargo capacity, VN5 easily accommodates two Euro sized pallets, and offers a gross payload of up to 830kg. It has been built with a large side-loading door (enabling a pallet to be side-loaded) and a 60/40 split door at the rear to make loading and unloading easy for the driver.

VN5 is now available to order in the UK now with first customer deliveries before the end of the year.
