Sothebys  Exceptional Results at Car Auction $5.7 Million Taj Ma Garaj Porsche Collection Auction Results

The Taj Ma Garaj Collection  featured 32 rare Porsche and Volkswagen motor vehicles, and a further 356 lots of memorabilia. The auction raised $5.7 million in sales and with almost 60% of auction bidders being brand-new clients to RM Sotheby’s. Over 40% of all bidders attended the auction via telephone or Internet.

The most exciting result was a desirable 1957 Porsche 356 A Carrera GT Speedster by Reutter (pictured). It crossed the block sporting its original matching-numbers 1500 GT engine and has undergone an extensive restoration to the highest standard.

Other car auction highlights included a 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe equipped with a number of unique Porsche options

Also selling strongly at the sale, a 1981 Porsche 924 Carrera GTS Clubsport, one of 15 low mileage examples with this one having just 47 km. There was a well optioned, low-mileage 1970 Porsche 914-6; and the sale also featured a never-raced Rothmans 1988, 944 Turbo Cup.
