Elswick, like most pioneer Motorcycle manufacturers, started with bicycles in the early 1890’s.

Motorcycle manufacture started around 1903 using precision proprietary engines which continued to be used until 1920.

This magnificent combination once formed part of a private collection belonging to Brian Frank, a well-known and widely respected Yorkshire restorer and collector.

This 550cc machine is equipped with a 3 speed Sturmey-Archer hub gear, acetylene lighting, speedo, bulb horn and an ‘Art Cane’ (wicker) sidecar.

Restored in 1968 and recorded in the VMCC Register of machines, whilst in the hands of the Frank family, it attended many shows and was regularly ridden and displayed (often at the Isle of Man TT) winning many successive awards.
