Ginetta G26 1984

At a time when sports cars were not selling well, the Walkletts turned to another concept, that of a 'performance car' that would appeal to a different market.
The G26-family (G26, G28, G30 and G31) employed the running gear and interiors of 'retired' Ford Cortinas (MkIII or MkIV) that were turning up in vehicle breakers' yards all over the country. Ginetta could supply all but the engine, along with a galvanised chassis in the 'Superkit'. These cars were popular at the time, and quite a few were built. Sadly, not highly prized today, which is a shame. The G26 had pop-up headlights and a hatch-back.
