Harley Davidson Motorcycles Wld 1937

There are other restored Harleys 45s from the 30s and other Goulding Lightframe hacks but none are combined with the look of the original paint scheme of this bike and none with the cachet ’it’s one of a kind’.
The bike is a 1937 HD (a WLD) with a Goulding light frame hack circa 1925 painted to match (in the original colours of the bike) and with the original license plate. The finish is virtually flawless and is still drawing rave reviews after 25 years following a complete frame-off restoration.
The bike was run around Milwaukee for the 105th with a new battery, rebuilt carb, new plugs, plus a freshly cleaned and adjusted clutch (goes first /second kick every time).
Its history – Bought new in 1937 from Knuth Harley Davidson and used to commute to the HD plant on Juneau parked in the employee’s garage under the watchful eye of “Charlie” the guard on a nearly daily basis for 32 years.
After several years of effort, a complete frame off restoration was finished in 1983 and it has been ridden very seldom since. Its most famous passenger was Jean Davidson and it was the only bike on display stage side at the Harley 100th at the Juneau plant when the fireworks and balloons were set off. Now you can appreciate what a wonderful history this bike has.
Fuel valve is a later model, oil gauge does not work, and the previous owner has certified that the mileage is correct. What a wonderfully old 2 owner bike. This bike has 86,853 miles on the clock.
Bought from the Harley Dealer in Wisconsin USA 2008.
