Henderson 4 cylinder models began production in 1912 and by 1923 had been much refined, producing 28hp at 3400rpm.

The improvements included a larger more efficient carburettor, improved intake manifold and rear brakes, redesigned crankshaft, improved cylinder head cooling and exhaust system, and a revised reverse gear.

Henderson’s main rival. Harley-Davidson quickly challenged them to a match race of 12 heats, 11 of which Harley promptly lost. Not only was the new model fast, but reliable as well, setting a 24-hour endurance record at the Tacoma Speedway that stood until 1937.

This fully restored Deluxe model was purchased from Canada and became part of the Collection in 2009.
