The name Matchless first appeared in the 1890s on bicycles manufactured by HH Collier.

The firm’s first experimental motorcycle appeared in 1899 and its first production model in 1902.

When civilian production recommenced after World War I the Model H was an early addition to the range. A development of the 8B/2, the model H was unusual in being offered only as a motorcycle combination, with integral sidecar chassis, sprung sidecar wheel, swinging arm rear suspension and electric lighting. One of the most capable motorcycle combinations of its day, the Model H lasted in production until 1927.

The previous owner from the UK (who owned this magnificent combination for close to 40 years) had it restored in 1989 by Messers Keith Kopp and Tony Osborne. It was used regularly under his ownership, albeit covering a relatively modest daily mileage. It is an easy starter (first kick) and affords a supremely comfortable ride for both rider and passenger.
