Singer Eleven 1934–1937

At the time, Singer described this model as the best car they had built.

This pristine example of British engineering really has to be seen and driven to fully appreciate how advanced Singer cars were in the 1930’s. It has a 1394cc single overhead camshaft, 3 bearing crankshaft engine with a fully pressurised and filtered lubrication system.

It develops its maximum power at a heady (for the time) 4,000 RPM.  The hand book quotes top speed as 65.2 mph!

The transmission is a fascinating combination of a fluid flywheel, conventional clutch, 4 speed crash gear box with a free wheel and the usual propeller shaft and final drive.
