Description

We have a very special 1955 Salmson 2300 S ‘Sport’ on offer. Salmson was a French engineers firm that was involved in the production of cars, aeroplanes and pumps. Introduced in 1953, the Salmson 2300 S ‘Sport’ we have on offer is the last model Salmson ever produced. This sporty 2+2, designed by Henri Martin, is one of only 188 Henri Chapon bodies’ examples produced until 1957. Thanks to the quick 105 Hp, 2300 Twin Cam engine coupled to a Cotal, clutchless manual, gearbox, the rallying potential was readily established. The Salmon became a very successful contender, winning the 1953 Rally Des Alpes, successfully participating in the ’55,’56 and ’57 24-hour of Le-Mans, in 1956 it completed the legendary Mille Miglia as well as the Tulip Rally/ Rally de Charbonnieres. This Salmson is a sports car Pur-Sang and is eminently suitable and eligible for most historic racing and rallying events in the world, including the Mille Miglia
