Description

1972 MGB chrome bumper roadster with overdrive. Damask Red 94,300 miles.
Price - 7800 or nearest acceptable offer. The car does not get enough use, but it is still a reluctant sale. A BVAC Heritage certificate plus a fair bit of history is available.
This MGB was restored in the late 1980s with new sills, wings and doors and re-painted. (photos available). It was then garaged for some years until I bought it in 2003.
I spent a year carrying out more, mainly mechanical, restoration (more photos and receipts available). This included complete renewal of the braking and suspension systems, fuel tank and pump (electronic SU). A stainless exhaust is fitted.
The spoke pattern alloys were fitted when I bought it and have been powder-coated. All 4 tyres are good.
The engine is a re-bored replacement and there is no cylinder wear. Oil pressure is excellent. The head has new hardened seats, valves and springs plus a new standard camshaft, cam followers and rocker shaft.
Electronic ignition has been fitted and a Kenlowe fan. The battery has been converted to a single 12-volt with isolator.
A new clutch and release bearing were fitted about 500 miles ago.
The seats along, with the interior and boot carpets, are in very good condition as is the double-duck hood and tonneau cover. A radio is fitted and the headlights have a relay upgrade.
The sale will include numerous spares including a stainless exhaust and a Moltex car cover.
The car had a recent 8500 agreed valuation. It is mechanically sound and runs beautifully but the paintwork does need some attention. This has been factored into the asking price.
