Distinctively unique from any other DB4 or DB4GT…this stunning coachbuilt slopeback coupe with graceful flowing lines…appears instantly and uniquely pleasing to the eye.

Masquerading under the beautiful bodywork lurks a truely formidable competition race car. This incredibly exclusive and attractive bodied Gran Turismo/race car was revealed at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show and remains part of an elite and rare family of hand built DB4GT 4/5/6 cars.
Displayed by Gruppo Bertone and designed by revered visionary Mr. Giorgetto Giugiaro…who was only 22years old at the time and in the infancy of his outstanding career.

In direct competition with the Italians…

British based A.M. wanted to flex its creative design and technology muscles…Giorgetto Giugiaro was tasked with creating the ultimate Gran Turismo variant. Within a few days of Christmas 1960…the 76th and very last DB4 GT chassis was delivered to Italian Carrozzeria Bertone. A few short weeks after delivery…now monikerd the ‘Jet’…this elegant steel-on-steel notchback coupe was expertly fabricated to completion. It’s lavishly appointed bespoke interior was draped in fine Connolly leather, deep-pile Wilton carpeting, and the finest exotic wood grains. All are deeply reflective of the finest Aston Martin culture and traditions.

The stunning coupe is sharply reminiscent of the Bertone bodied Ferraris. Beyond its sleek styling…the pleasing light colored silver-green Bertone Jet is recognizable by its hexagon fashioned grille, elegantly carved vents, faired-in headlamps and frameless roll-down windows.

Under the watchful eye of Harold Beech who headed the engineering department…the new cars’ racing potential was obvious from the beginning. The body was not constructed of aluminum like the other DB4GTs…but instead slightly heavier steel. Designed for racing, this one-off creation came with dynamic options. Fitted with a totally new steel platform chassis housing all around disc brakes…equipped with triple Weber 45DCOE race-engineeered carburetors, and the commanding power source is a factory sanctioned twin cam 3.7 liter, inline straight-six engine. The uprated Girling disc brakes allowed the Bertone Jet to be the first car in the world to perform 0-100 in less than 20 seconds. 0-60 was reported at 6.1 seconds with an impressive max speed of 153mph. Sporting a impressive racing pedigree…Sir Stirling Moss was the driver of this car in a number of races.
After various owners/countries, and a severe engine fire…the gorgeous Bertone Jet was restored to its original glory in 1980. This elegant coupe travels the world and has garnered countless wins at the most prestigious concours events globally. Considered a masterpiece of its era…the Aston Martin DB4 GT Bertone Jet showcases innovative technology, exceptional mechanical engineering and exquisite beauty.
This one-of-a-kind distinctive coupe sold for $4.9million back in 2013.
