The body and chassis is a monocoque tub with its light weight and the aerodynamism designed by Malcolm Sayer, British aircraft engineer, the E-Type’s performance was better than the XK150. This model has 3.8-liter DOHC inline six-cylinder engine with triple SU carburetors mated to ur-speed manual transmission. It can produce 265 hp and reach a top speed of 240 kmh.
The Jaguar E-Type Series 1 was presented at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show. It was an huge success with a factory price of just $6,000. Sold at auction by RM/Sotheby’s for $258,500
