Remembering “James Marshall “Jimi” Hendrix” who sadly died on this day 18th September 1970, guitarist, singer, and songwriter.
Although his mainstream career spanned only four years, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of popular music, and one of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century.
Jimi Hendrix bought a metallic blue 1969 Corvette on the Axis Bold As Love Tour in the US in 1969 but totaled it in Los Angeles a few months later. The insurance covered the price of a replacement car, this time a silver 1969 Corvette, the last car he owned before his death in London in 1970.
