The fourth generation Ford Thunderbird is a large personal luxury car that Ford manufactured for model years 1964 through 1966.

This generation of Thunderbird has been redesigned in favor of a more angular, “formal” look. At that time, the Thunderbird’s sporty image was just that: The standard V8 engine with 300 PS (224 kW) and 300 PS needed almost 11 seconds to bring the heavy T-Bird to 96 km / h. The soft sprung suspension made it possible for the body to lean, indulge, and float considerably on curves and bumps. Contemporary testers felt the Buick Riviera and Pontiac Grand Prix were much more drivable cars, but the Thunderbird retained its leading market share.
