Description
Faced by the limitations of the dependable, yet not especially powerful B Series engine, Abingdon’s engineers began work on a new four cylinder with twin overhead camshafts. Where they could extract around 60 bhp from a conventional B Series, their DOHC unit with its alloy crossflow cylinder head peaked at 108 bhp at 6,700 rpm - quite the performance increase! Very few MG A Twin-Cams were ever actually built, making them highly collectable today and we’re delighted to offer one such example which was supplied new to Padua, Italy in 1959.
