Description

AUDI COUPE QUATTRO 1989

One of the last of the classics before the noughties came along.
Unfortunately after nearly 3 years of ownership its time to part with this beauty due to 4 other projects in the process, This is my fave to drive even though i've covered limited miles since I have had it due to work commitments and Covid. But its the only one in a finished condition that I can move on. I think you get a real sense of Nostalgia with this when cruising with the 5 pot KV engine delivering a throaty tune that only the Quattro can deliver.
Had full service history from new up to 2010 (101,435) miles, but then nothing and having only covered 12,000 odd miles since, so I assume it was off the road for some time, in fact the guy I bought it from had two Audi's both stored and said were summer use only, this being one of them. See pics, lots of receipts and all the original service book and manual both in German and English.
Has power windows, elec mirrors, central locking, Immobiliser. Pretty sure I had new tyres when I bought it but I have so many cars I cannot remember, Oil pressure, voltage and engine temp gauge all working spot on.
see link for full spec as they say it so much better lol. (They don't allow links unfortunately.
I have had during most of my ownership an annoying niggle with cold start up that has just finally been solved by a guy in Croydon through the FB club, but before this I changed the following trying to get to the bottom of it.
Air intake hose
Various other hose replacement
Idle control Valve
New Distributor and Rotary arm
New lead and plugs
Oil change
Full service
Fuel pump pressure test
Air pressure test
water pump
new belts
Brake pads
New odometer Cog fitted
Timing
then finally solved with the following
re adjust timing, Co2 adjustment, new warm up regulator, another new idle control valve, with 262 relay. There are a few other things I have added or replaced too, that fail my memory although receipts and lots of history come with this.
It now sounds and drives as it should and I'm letting it go sadly.
Interior is in fantastic condition too for year and includes Flip Cd/Radio although not sure if this is original.
I have also in my time to eradicate scratches and scuffs had the body painted below the pillars, as well as bonnet and boot and rear bumper, regrettably not doing front bumper as finances at the time prevented this. It is now ready to drive and to be enjoyed.
Anything else I remember I will edit and add later.
I think this is fairly priced to go, I actually had this sold pre Covid for 9K to a French touring company before the lockdown. You just don't see these for sale anymore and this surely means a sound investment for someone.
